Does anyone know if there is anywhere in Ireland that does specific lens for computer use? I've spoken to my optician and he doesn't stock them. A bit more than anti glare and particularly for computer use. I work from home and sit in front of Mac for 9 hours and very tiring on eyes.
I've seen these but no stockists in Ireland http://www.gunnars.com
    or these http://steelseries.com/products/other/steelseries-scope

Do you wear reading glasses by any chance? If not are you aged between 35 - 45. Sounds like a personal question but there is a lens from Essilor called a anti fatigue. It basically has a small increase in power in the lower portion of the lens. It's purpose is to aid pre-presbyopes (i.e. those who are not using reading glasses yet). If you do wear reading glasses then there is a short range varifocal designed for computer use and for reading. It's also from Essilor and it's simply called a Computer lens. Both of these lenses are available with a anti reflective coating too. Any Opticians with an account with Essilor can order these lenses for you.

Your optician doesn't necessarily need an essilor account, as at this stage all lens manufacturers do a computer specific lens so I'm surprised to hear of any optician that doesn't have a lens available for you.

Anyway, as said, you don't need to look for an opticians that have essilor lenses specifically.

I have had great success with lens called Vistamesh by a company called Norville

Should be available from all "Good" opticians :)

I get mine from zenni optical. I get them mid way between reading and distance.

I have had 'computer glasses' for nearly 20 years. They are simply a shortish (normal computer screen distance) focus lens from your own prescription with an anti glare coating. Like wearing slippers, couldn't manage without them.
