    First European Tour event of 2013 (calendar year, not season) gets under way on Thursday.

    Limited field of 33 players, including Padraig Harrington, Shane Lowry, Darren Clarke and Michael Hoey. By my reckoning, 38 OWGR points for the winner, so opportunity for Padraig to break back into the top 50 and great opportunity for Shane to get there for the first time.

    Hopefully they wont get the weather that the equivalent US Tour event is getting....farcical stuff.

    farcical, but also the most interesting 20 minutes of golf I have watched in a long time.....it was brilliant!

    Good win by Oosthuisen. Brings him up to a career high 4th in the OWGR.

    Padraig Harrington's 4th place brings him back into the top 50, with Shane Lowry almost there - still 52nd but only 0.012 average points behind 50th.
