Sorry if this has been covered already but I'll be back home next week and hope to get a bit of GA done. Has the VFR chart changed or been updated with new airspace in line with the point merge on 28?

I'd give it a couple years... The changes have appeared on digital charts (skydemon etc) and extracts published on the IAA site, but I haven't heard of, nor expect, a revision to the 1:500,000 or 1:250,000 IAA charts.

Does that not mean airspace will be busted left right and centre?

If folks don't keep up to date with the AICs (who does???) very possibly! The changes aren't huge though and mostly within/around the previous controlled airspace, so you're already likely to be in receipt of a service and would be advised by ATC before you do. (I would hope).

I'm looking at the press release now from the IAA website....I cant spot any differences....

I think it's mostly out to the East of the Dublin CTA around LIFFY, some of the old 4500ft floor has become part of the adjoining 2500ft floor. Somewhere I wouldn't be single engine VFR anyway...
