    Hi all,

Im am just wondering about personal files held at one's local garda station. Im originally from Kerry but living now for a few years in Limerick. I have just obtained full time employment in the Social Care Field. Was a bit of a bold boy in my younger years and I'm just wondering as I have been asked my my employer to bring my degree to a garda station and have it signed by a member of the Gardai.

As I have been residing in Limerick for the past few years I will be going to Limerick garda station as on my CV i stated i was living in Limerick. I have not been asked to disclose anything but im wondering would whats on file in the garda station by on record also be on record in Limerick garda station.??

Does your employer doubt the institution that educated you or do they doubt your identity? I've never heard of getting a degree signed.

i have never heard of it either, there was a few of us for interview and I knew one girl and he was asked the same so i do not think they doubt me. There is nothing serious in my background anyway it is just for piece of mind that i want to find out if what is on file below in kerry would be on file in Limerick garda station also.

It's a certification of a copy they are looking for i reckon. Gardaí don't do it anymore though. They will only witness you certifying it.

Yes I have filled out a garda vetting form for the organisation, yet the question I have asked is not about the signing of the copy of my degree, it is relation to files keep in my home town in kerry, being on file in Limerick.????

They don't actually keep physical files as such, it's on a computer system known as pulse. How old we're you when these incidents happened?

Any information held on you is accessible from any garda pulse computer in the country.

Donation to the poor box is not a conviction as such, it's a slap on the wrist from the Court for offenders that the Court believes can turn themselves around and not re-offend. As far as I know it doesn't appear on garda vetting.

I know what your question was my point is that the info of court appearances etc will be visible through your Garda vetting signing a degree is surely irrelevant when the Gary's vetting is taking place anyway. If there is a problem you won't get clearance from that not the degree signature that's the whole point of the Garda vetting all that info whether in limerick Kerry or Donegal will be visible to the gv unit
