    Hi can anyone help?

My bike recently came back from a service.

    All good.

But I had to change a rear tube and now it looks like this.....

    Am I doing something wrong?
    I must be?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Raybike.

Are you just in the wrong gear? Looks like small ring front, small sprocket rear. Change to the middle ring and all should be fine.

Usually indicates that your chain is slightly too long, but without a proper look at the setup it could be perfectly normal.

Large sprocket rear, small ring front. Looking any better?

This is also a Sora-equipped bike - image robbed from CRC:

Comparing the angles, yes, it looks like yours is a bit "high". Does it work ok? As above, maybe the chain is too long?

Well it did...haven't rode since before xmas.

Noticed slow flat, problem with tube valve core...so I changed rear tube.

As I say it was serviced by a reputable bike mechanic 250 miles ago? (2nd time)

Previously he had changed the chain and cassette.

My park chain wear indicator reads chain is fine???

Wear indicator results don't really mean much in your case.

Normally, when you replace a chain, you'd just use the old one to determine the number of links. It is possible that the full length was used but then you would have noticed the problem before now. Or would you? It's also easy to put the chain on wrong when it is replaced but this is generally noticable either visually or audibly.

It's also possible that when you put the wheel back on, you didn't get the chain in the right place but I doubt if this is the problem.

It really comes down to when the thing started to look like this - after the wheel was changed or after the chain was replaced. If it cycles ok like this, my guess is that the chain was never sized properly and is too long.

To be honest,I think it looked fine until I changed the wheel.

I'm not very mechanically minded but I'm sure it did.

Is it just a case of the 'B' screw needing adjustment. (Is it still there?)

    'B' Screw still there yeah.

I don't know whether to fiddle with it or not?

Either the chain is too long (one link by the look of it) or you may have knocked out the B tension adjustment when changing the wheel.
As a rule of thumb, with chain on large front and small rear, the mech arm should be vertical.
Check and adjust according to the following.

    Too many links in chain.
