    Hi folks,
I had no idea this board existed, and only stumbled upon it when researching racehorse ownership in Ireland.
Looks like a good board, and hope I can spend a bit of time on here, and maybe contribute a little.
I never found horse racing until early 20's when I married into a family of racing fans (36 now).
I enjoy the punting side of it, but am not a huge gambler.
I find the bloodstock element of the sport fascinating.
I definitely prefer the Flat to the Jumps.
I rarely attend meetings, as I find it hard to get a proper view at the course, and you also miss the other fixtures on the day.
There really is no sport like it.

    Welcome aboard

Only thing I'll say is there is definitely more activity during the Jumps season but I'm sure there's enough people on here to keep you busy during the flat!

Welcome! Looking forward to reading your contributions (even if you openly admit to preferring flat!). :D

Welcome aboard! To reiterate what premier stone noted. Some small amount of users on here with very strong opinions and sometimes have trouble communicating it across in a friendly manner...don't read too much into it it's all banter at the end of the day

Thanks for the welcome folks (all blokes I take it?)
Don't get me wrong, I love the jumps, just really love the flat :D
Come festival time I'll be buzzin, just like the rest of you! Seems like a top year for jumps with some real quality about

I'm the same, go to 2/3 meetings a year but I'd go for 2 or 3 days, even at the course I'd be watching on the big screen rather than using the 'oculars :D

I lay lots of horses at times so missing the other fixtures regularly doesn't suit me.

This is a great corner of boards.ie, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
