I have no idea how long the offer lasts but it is a good enough offer for new releases. Its a pain in hole sometimes to travel solely to drop back a DVD the following day so the 3 nights grace is the main selling point. Plus there seems to have been a spate of decent new releases in the last couple of weeks so it is a good time to take advantage of it.

PS if anyone is taking advantage of this offer over the next fews days ask the member of staff how long is the offer on for and post it up here. Cheers.

better off going into Game and buying up all the old DVDs, 4each with buy one get one free. There not new but there are some good picking in there. not bad anyways for 2E a piece, and you never need to drop them back, i even started throwing out all the crap ones, i wish i could do that with some of the recent releases, The wheelie bin for crimes against cinems

Surely the days of xtra vision and other rental stores are numbered..I know xtravision have diversified in recent years and sell consumer electronics and other stuff now but if your core business is renting dvds you must be suffering hugely at the moment

In fairness the rental space has really shrunk relative to the selling space since it went through administration. Eventually I reckon they will move to a monthly membership charge just like the online operators.

This offer and an Apache 15" for 10 yoyo with a crate of Miller, staying in is really the new going out. :)

I got that text recently from Xtravision about the offer too... but IMO, its not great.

Xtravision are quite good for buying dvds sometimes... they have beaten amazon a few times on boxsets and dvds that i was looking for, but have been expensive for others.

It hit or miss sometimes, but i have bought a good few times from them.

As for the rental side of things, i cant remember the last dvd i got in there... i think it was "The Guard". We did rent a few dvds for the kids over the summer as it was good value, but if it is still €4.25 (besides this offer by the OP) for a normal rental, they can go and whistle!

In my mind €2 to €2.50 is the price point i would be happy with to start renting dvds full time again i think.

My Broadband is quite slow... not fast enough for apple movie rentals, but fine for netflix (which is not great for the titles on offer to view) but the neighbour uses apple movie rentals through his ATV3, (his broadband is a good bit faster) and i think its €3.99 per movie rental for 48hrs which he likes. I think its a bit steep for an online rental IMO.

Hopefully (fingers crossed) blink box and love film will open here in Ireland one day!
