Stopping CHKDSK...

07-01-2013 12:55pm#1Trying to rescue files from knackered laptop drive.
Connected it via ext USB & files are visible but it's snotty about which & how many files I can copy off it :rolleyes:
Connected it internally & on boot it Win 7 went straight to CHKDSK.
Fine sez I, it might straighten it out enough to get the files off it.
VERY slow, left it running over night, checked at 8.30 this morning:
Now almost 1pm & still stuck there....
Is pulling the plug a viable option?
