Imperial Guard Manticore Rules

My son has just bought the 40k rule book and an Imperial Guard Manticore but we're struggling to find the rules for it.

There doesn't seem to be much about it in the main rule book. He now wants to buy the codex but as the latest one seems to be published in 2009 we're not sure if they're even in there.

Where can we go for the rules?

We especially want to know about reloads, i.e. do you just get the 4 missiles per game or can you reload after they've all fired.

    Thanks,

    CJ

The rules are in the Imperial Guard Codex, and the one from 2009 is still the current one.

Great, thanks Spear. That's what I wanted to know.

Some of the Imperial Armour books also have the rules, but a Codex is the first step for any army.

Bit off topic but are those armour books any good? Was thinking of getting one cause they look interesting!

They vary quite a bit in nature from the early ones. The later ones are more campaign/fluff heavy. The most recent one, Horus Heresy: Betrayal was very well received, but very expensive. You'd want to check out someone else's copy before spending I reckon.

Be warned though that NONE of the items or vehicles in them are valid for play with out your opponents agreement because they (Forgeworld) are even worse the GW on creating balanced rules (i.e. 80% of the units are underpowered and over priced and 20% goes the other way) and basically no tournaments will allow any units from them.

@ Nody: But some of them look nice!! But ya I'd say noone would really allow them so I'll be slow to buy me thinks.

You can always claim they are a converted <insert GW vehicle> if you want to use the model :)
