and what's wrong with that? just mentioning about 2 people due in court!! (also shouldn't this be in Television forum?)

That would be a play, rather than a sonnet.

Maybe a Haiku would be nicer.

That's the story. You want them to make **** up so you can feel better? Go read a book if you are looking for more words to read!

Personally I would have used their half compiled report on a certain senator recently as an example.

    Google it.

Two people have been charged after cannabis was seized.

Ann and Barry were held at Tallaght Garda Station.

They will appear before Tallaght District Court.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,372 ✭✭✭im invisible

Ann is stoned and has the munchies

Barry is simple and from Tallagh, he has robbed a jam jar

This generally happens a lot though with a lot of news outlets. It seems that when a story breaks first, there is little or no details known, but would need to be reported on. It's likely that in an hour or so, RTE will have a more in depth story, especially for news broadcasts.

    Drugs seized in Tallaght
Man and woman are in jail
    Going to Court soon.

Maybe they were going for a haiku.

    Edit - Damn you gobnait!

You may have got a Haiku but it doesn't say much for your I.Q.

So many basic laws of Irish journalism broken here:
    • What were their ages?
    • What were they wearing?
    • Are they known to the Gorthee?
    • Is the female a mother?
    • If so, what are the ages of the kids?
    • Have any of the kids got disabilities or ailments?
    • Are they being held in different Gortha stations?
    • Have the Gorthee appealed for witnesses yet?
    • Have the neighbours reported that "nawhin' like dis ever happend here befower"?
    • Have they appeared in court yet, looking stone-faced?
    • Are they being held under Section Blah of the Blah Blah act?
    • Has anything been closed for teknikil examination?
We need to know this stuff - it's in the "public interest". Bring back Kieran Mullooooooleh.

Gotta love* Spin1038's news reports.. They try and bring it down to street level for us..

"2 lads were stopped in Ballier this afternoon with a sh1t load of white.. they'll be held for up to 24 hours or until their motts bail them out.. more on that story later".

Oh the shame, to be caught as one was. Drugs, of an illicit manner, cannabis no doubt. They were found upon thy persons. Not one but two individuals, with background (and residence) of a foreign land in Dublin, that goes by the name of Tallaght. They must now console each other, as their impending date assumes within a short time frame. To be slandered and disgraced in the eyes of their peers. Held overnight until the masses agree their faith. Time will only show, their subordinatory bland existence shall resume in a cell. Four walled and dark. Bars upon the windows. Fading light, stretching across the ground. No place like home, as it is now to become.

As chance would have it, Haiku was the surname of the gardener arrested......

Nothing surprises me with the quality of RTÉ. That's for another thread, for another day (and there have been many), but many people will agree with me on this.

The standard of the national broadcaster, in many of its platforms, is getting poorer every day.

    /resume thread and apparent snobbery

That's the whole story. Like it was written by a foreign 6 yr old.

Romeo, romeo where forth art thou Romeo? Locked in four wall prison separated from thoust lover, the fair Juilet and thy stash of mind altering flora. Deny thy charges and clear thy name or thoust will be due before the resident castle court.
    Verily
