Help buying a classic

    Hi everyone

I'm 21, currently driving an 01 opel astra, and I'd like to have an old classic, just for shows and maybe a weekend, sunny day sorta car. At the minute I'm looking to spend about €2500, maybe 3 on something.

So I'm just wondering, what should I avoid, who would insure someone like myself (also have a full license and 1 years no claims) stuff like that. Is it possible to get something at my age or will i just have to wait?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Insurance wise you'll just have to wait till 25
, buy a project and when it's finished in 4 years ( all going well providing you don't loose interest mid project) you'll be ready for road with a resto story to go without. Good luck.

It is possible, but I'm not sure that you'd get a discounted 'classic policy'.

What make & model are you thinking of, how old would you be thinking too.

Are you into Old Fords, BMW's, even Opel(Manta......:) )

Well to be honest pre 1980 so anything from the 70's, 60's etc. I like the look of the old fords, to be honest I find most bmw's even these days to look the same, just bigger or smaller, It's a big leap from a small wee ford but I'd love a rolls royce silver wraith ll, Maybe use it as a wedding car on the side or something, ever since I seen one when I was little I've always wanted one. Anyways, I can dream eh? But yeah for the mean time, something small and something that looks nice I guess you could say, I was thinking of just buying one, fixing whatever's up with it and sticking it in storage until I can actually use it
