Hi, I'm looking for a job where I can work from home to earn a bit of extra cash. Something like data entry, anything involving a computer and the net really.. Anyone know a good place to start? I'm aware there are a lot of scams as regards working from home but there must be some legitimate stuff out there at this stage.. Help appreciated, thanks

Google Lionbridge Technologies. Also check Boards. They tend to have such parcels of work. I got one last year improving mapping info

Thanks An Ri rua, Lionbridge seem to be legit. Unfortunately Ireland isn't covered in open recruitment https://en-us.lionbridge.com/global-crowdsourcing/jobs/internet-assessors.htm : (

I just came across an Ad. for Google-Work-from-home with those envelopes business or whatever it is there the other day, havn't seen them Ads. floating around in a long time. Had meant to ask if there was any boardsies who ever got involved with working from home for Google.

That Elance looks like it could be something good, but erhm are you a Contractor, are you typically self-employed or what's the story?! Have ya to fill in the Casual Dockets or what....... Don't think Ireland is anywhere ready for anything like that for the foreseeable future as good and all as it looks.

Ive used elance my self to find contractors. Very popular in the U.S. , good few Irish people on it doing web design in particular. You register, the guy pays elance and then when the job is done, elance transfer the money to you. Odesk is also great.

You declare your income on your tax return.

This question gets asked every month, so if you use the search you will find lots of valid advice in the past.

Yeah I've had a look at sites like Freelancer, oDesk and Elance but they appear to be more trouble than they're worth.. The type of work I'm looking for is quite basic ya know, data entry/typing/working with apps e.g. google docs.. I wouldn't be looking for programming/web design gigs. Plus, I wouldn't be coming from a sales and marketing background. :|
