Servicing the car today sat in to it to move it. When i got out

Some of this mixed with water and a microfiber cloth

    And clean again

Would have been a lot worse if they were cloth seat!

I was very snobish about them. Its the first time i have car with heated seats and omfg what an amazing thing those are. I do have to be at work by 5:00 in the morning so its almost allways cold whenever i go to work. Now my arse is half way sweating on the way to work! :pac:

I am thinking now of cheap ways to achieve the heated seat warmth. Maybe a. Hot water bottle wrapped in a blanket.

Buy the autoglym leather cleaner and leather cream.
Clean them every 3-4 months or so (easily know there's no baby in my car..yet :) ) and the car smells like new :D
takes about 20 minutes or so to clean the inside of mine and smells fantastic for a few days..the cream is applied and buffed off and ensures the leather doesn't dry or crack..paid about €40 for the two bottles and a few cloths and I still have it about 16 months later..

I've used the microwaveable ones when I've had to drive a distance for work and was feeling sick with a kidney infection

    Worked pretty well

€1900 for a new seat and a lesson well learned. :pac:

:O they probably could have just sent it to be retrimmed in decent leather for less than half that.

I've leather seats, they're lovely, easy to keep clean and a much more premium feel too. Not seen that often in cars here but then again some cars in Ireland are still sold with manual windup windows!

Yup, won't buy a cloth seat car again. Yuck.

Yup heated leather seats here too. Can never heat to the max as it is just too warm. The best advantage of leather is when you have kids in the back. I would dread to think what the condition of material seats would be like now!!! Oh and dog too. No hair sticking to seat.

..Am I the only one that thinks Gliptone smell is appalling ?

Now it is an excellent cleaner and conditioner but that faux 'leather' smell is overpowering. I only use it if I'm sure I can leave the windows open for several hours.

Hmm I've been wondering what leather cleaner/polisher to use on my seats.

I might give that gliptone a go, I'll smell it in the shop first though before I buy it.

    I like cloth seats.

They don't sweat my arse. And back. This is also important.

Sean, I'm probably telling you something you already know, but just in case......
You might be well advised to give that leather some conditioner (eg. Autoglym Leather Care Balm) after using that detergent on it- in removing the engine oil it may also have removed some of the natural oils in the leather, leading to cracking later on.

+1 on the arse heating seats btw!
