Tyre question

    Hi all,
Tried the search function and there's plenty of discussion/advice but I can't quite find an answer to my, hopefully simple question.

Currently I'm running the stock tyres that came with my Felt Z75, Vittoria Zaffiro Pro apparently. I've no idea if they're a quality tyre or not, but have almost 2k km on them and have been perfectly happy with them. However today they seemed very iffy on damp roads, particularly bends. They didn't slip but definitely felt like they wanted to, if you know what I mean. A couple if times I sort of had to go straight on and really slow down rather than take a bend as normal - now it wasn't at great speed or anything, just out for a casual spin.

Anyway my question is basically what would be a good replacement/upgrade if I decided to change ? I don't ever intend to race and don't really do huge mileage. I know there's always a compromise with tyres but I'd like to get a good balance of puncture resistance and grip (who doesn't ? :)). From reading previous threads I'm inclined to try Durano Plus. Does anyone know how these would compare to the Zaffiro Pros with regard to both grip and puncture resistance ?

Other suggestions welcome. Or maybe just a new set of the current tyres ?

    Thanks

I think most people here will suggest that Continental 4000s are the best compromise in terms of grip v wear v puncture resistance!

2k on a tyre without complaint surely makes it a good tyre??As for grip on wet roads, just remember your running 110psi on 23mm worth of rubber, laws of physics apply.
