Repayment of PAYE when emigrating halfway through the year

I will be working from January to June of this year. My monthly income is roughly E3500 gross and my PAYE is roughly E460 per month (my pension payments come out of the gross figure first). In June, I intend on leaving the country for better job opportunities.

Will I be able to claim a refund of PAYE then and how much could I expect to receive? Would I be entitled to a repayment of USC also?
    Thanks

You would likely have to wait for the end of year, so that your Irish and foreign earnings could be assessed. You will be liable to Irish tax on all earnings, although if the other country has a double taxation treaty with Ireland, you will be allowed a credit for the tax paid in the other country.

You would likely only get a mid-year refund if you were leaving the workforce.

    Hi,

I was under the impression that you could make your claim immediately on ceasing employment in Ireland?

I am going to be in the same boat this year. I reckon I'll be leaving the country in August. I was hoping to be able to claim immediately as the refund will come in handy in relation to relocation costs etc ..

Upon commencement of employment in Australia, would I not then just be liable to pay tax on any new income under the Australian tax code?

Would appreciate any feedback on this.
