Hey looking for abit of friendly advice. Bought a sigma 10-20mm f3.5 for my slr love it been wanting one for ages. Plan on getting a full frame slr in the coming months and plan on keeping my sigma with my current slr as it's a cropped sensor and I'm looking for a more general lens like the kit one without leaving my sigma dormant. I'm thinking the 17-40L f4 as have 50mm f1.4 and hopefully getting 70-200f2.8 for sporting shots so I'm looking for something in between for the full frame camera.

    Any advice

    i have the 24-105, and it's a great all-purpose kind of lens!
get the 24-70 if you can afford it and want the larger aperture.

What sort of budget had you in mind. What about canon 24-70 F2.8 L?

Yeah i was thinking the 24-105 As i'll be covered with the wideangle with the Sigma And with the Price of the 70-200f2.8 don't think the budget will go to the 24-70f2.8.

it's great to have lenses that you can use on both crop and FF (i know your sigma can't be used though)
the 24mm on ff is wide enough, and then you have the sigma on the crop if you want to go wider.

Sorry Didn't see your Post.I don't have a budget as per say, But the 70-200L is a must on my list, And Will prob end up getting a Second hand 5d mark ii. So Under 1k for the"General Purpose lens".

Seen a few of the 24-70 MK 1 going for about 800 on adverts in the last few months but I don’t think you will go far wrong with either the 24-70 or 24-105. It mostly comes down to which do you want more the extra f stop or the IS and slightly longer

I am sorry but I honestly don’t know enough about those two cameras to make a fair comparison.
