Student accommodation at LYIT?

I am applying to LYIT to the Information Technology and Administration course (3 years) for September. I am deciding which type of accommodation I should go for: the student complex or student digs. Which one is the cheapest? I live in Tipperary, and so, if accepted, will have to travel a long long way to get there and back. Is there much support for people in my situation and does anyone else have to travel a long distance too? Thanks :-)

Having studied there for 4 years, i got student complex accommodation for the 1st two years, and then got a house for 3rd and 4th year with buddies i made in those 1st 2 years ! Cant remember which is cheaper but call around!

Ballyraine Halls isn't the best in terms of luxury, it aint bad but definitely the best for making friends and having fun/parties etc, not far a walk from lyit too ! :)
I knew a guy from Clonmel who was in my class and lived two doors away from in Ballyraine too, he stayed up there most of the time and went home once a month or so !
