The Irish Government signed seven sponsorship contracts in advance of the Irish Presidency of the EU. These sponsorship deals are part of a range of measures the Government has undertaken to deliver a cost-effective Presidency, aimed at keeping government spending down.

Maybe the goverment should look for sponsorship in other areas, sponsored hospital services, schools etc..
