hi all, just wondering if anyone has seen a chevrolet Matiz 2005/2006 for sale?
i have been on the look out for over a month and always just miss out when i ring about a car that is for sale.

i dont really car what colour it is so long as it had the nct up to date and there are no problems with it,m cause i look after two people who use wheelchairs, so need it to be reliable.

i had a matiz that suited me, but it was wrote off in an accident just before christmas.

anyone see any of them around the place?

thanks wonski, but that one is sold.
    i have around 3,500 colm.

    i wouldn't mind a micra or a yaris, but i doubt i will get a 2005/06 of either for 3, 500

A Yaris would be a much better car. I'd buy this if it checked out.

If you google the number on the name on the ad (Patricia Gilheany) comes up. It looks genuine. No NCT, so only buy on that condition. She's selling on behalf of an old lady that can no longer drive. Ad only up 15 hours. 6 months tax too. Worth a phone call. You'd get it for €3,500

It's just after dawning on me now, Patricia Gilheany (selling the Yaris) is the lady that's on Vincent Browne every so often. She's a spokesperson for the Sean Quinn support group. You'd often hear her on the radio too.

It's definitely her. Google her number.

    hi all,
thanks for all the info re cars, still haven't found one yet, though i have put a bid in for an 05 micra, its a beautiful car, but i had to put a bid below the asking price

so just to cover myself i still been looking for a car and have seen a matiz 06 that needs an ecg valve...anyone know how much it would cost to buy it and have it fitted?

i have a pain in my rear looking at cars :-/

it's not the year but the mileage that's important. you could get a 05 with a heap of miles or an 04 with a low mileage, '04 better buy. IMHO!

If i was you, i would avoid ANY car that needs job done, unless you have mechanic friend/family member who will check the car for you.
With your budget you can easily find good car that needs no work.
Suggestions of other posters are spot on - Yaris, or even Micra are much better cars, and even if you go down in years, Yaris is better deal.
Also, they will keep their value much better, and are easier to sell when you want to change.

both have low mileage, though i agree, even though i drove a matiz for 6 years, brilliant little car
great for parting, tax, insurance, easy on petrol too.
but the nissan is the better make, lovely car too.

i'd be interested in knowing about the ecg valve, so i can be prepared if the nissan falls through

Even if you have to drop back a couple of years id advise you get a Yaris. They are much much better than any Matiz or Micra for that matter.

The black Yaris I linked above was only up for 2 days before it was listed as sold. I honestly don't think you would have got a better car than that. 05 Yaris with only 40k miles, would last for years. Someone got a bargain!

Another good car that I forgot to mention is a Diahatsu Sirion. These are based on the second generation Yaris so should be very reliable. http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3614674

Never forget that the 03 on micra shares more than a bit with the renault clio of the vintage.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but i dont believe that nissan have manufactured anything very well for over 10 years, and dont deserve to keep the reputation of the old micras and primeras.

So dont believe that an 05 micra is going to anywhere as good as a yaris/sirion.

I agree. Daihatsu never got much credit it for it here, but they always topped reliability surveys every year, passing out even their owners Toyota. They would leave so called "reliable" German makes in the ha-penny place for dependability.

Never heard of an ECG valve, are you sure it's not EGR? Exhaust Gas recirculation valve, wouldn't have thought a Matiz 600cc engine engine would have had one but maybe they do. No idea what one would cost but you can always price the part at an auto factors first and then factor in that and fitting cost to your offer on the car..

    What about a Suzuki ignis?

    Bulletproof and cheap.
