When taking a sewer vent pipe through the roof of a house can a vent slate be
used or does the pipe have to be left open. A vent slate is much neater looking and would probably have less chance of leaking rather than a flashing around the open pipe. Any help would be appreciated :confused

If you mean a vent pipe for a soil stack, you can use a durgo valve which means you dont have to go out through the roof.
