    Hi all,

Currently a PC user but am looking at getting a Macbook Pro in the next few weeks.

One thing that was wondering has anybody bought one with a SSD drive, and is there a considerable difference of less heat produced from the machine?

    Thanks

I put a ssd in my macbook last week. boot times are much quicker and programs open v quickly as to be expected.

as for heat, i havent noticed a difference.

Heat shouldn't be affected, most of the Heat is generated from the CPU and PSU.

I installed SSD and put my old drive in place of the optical disk with a caddy (you can find them on eBay).

Works really well, a bit lighter & quieter.
    Heat isn't really different though.

Installed an SSD on mine and have no problems.
It would be much cheaper to buy one with HDD and install an SSD yourself.
