guess he is implying the 50/50 weight distribution, rear wheel drive, excellent chassis and steering...

    Change the e to a c and you're bulletproof.

Really? Would the C Class be much smaller though? Boot full of pram, baby stuff etc etc!

Idbatterim hit the nail on the head!

Its definitely not a M3 type of drivers car, but if you enjoy driving in any way, the BMW is the one to go for!! Granted the 520d is hardly a petrol heads dream, but a slightly more enjoyable drive than the Merc!!

Could you not consider a 525/530d? The 520d is underwhelming engine wise, the 2.0 is grand in the 3 series but not suited to the 5 imo.

Every time the last digit goes up so does the tax for the year. I know exactly where your coming from though.

A buddy in the trade was giving me first refusal on a 2008 520d at trade price, over 5 years a 2006 530d bought at retail price compared very well overall costwise :) Obviously its two year older.

Admittedly with a €10k budget you presumably won't be looking for a 2008 520d so won't be paying the "cheap tax" premium (f tard tax :pac: ).

Yeah a quick look on DoneDeal would give me an 05 Merc or an 06 Beamer, so both well shy of July 2008...

Must say the interior of the E220 looks a nice place to be....
