I've been looking for a Steelers thread but cant seem to find one so thought i'd start one myself.
Any thoughts on how the season has gone for the Steelers?Ive been told that for most steeler fans any season they dont make the playoffs is considered a bad season but maybe this might be a lesson in humility.
Is Mike Tomlin lucky to still be in a job?He always has that excuse about injuries and yes they were down to their 7th choice players but it seems like every season hes been in charge they've had an injury crisis.
While the Steelers have always had a strong defence(i worry what will happen when Dick Le Boeu retires) their offence has'nt been strong in a few seasons now.The porus Offensive Line meaning Ben getting hammered in every game is something that has'nt been right for a couple of seasons now and is a huge factor in the weak offence. They have high hopes for a few of the younger guys in the O.L but they will take time to develope.
Also, they've never been able to find a replacement for "The Bus" as their RB when he would get them those precious yards they needed on 3rd and short. Some of their 3rd down play calling this year has been poor.
Overall Mike Tomlin has many issues to address this off-season.

Humility? That seems more than a little passive aggressive.

They have more Superbowls than anyone and are perhaps the best run team in the history of the league. If anyone deserves to be confident and have high expectations it's the Steelers.

I can see them losing Colon, Hampton, Harrison, Wallace, Mendy aswell as some other non starters. I'd like to see them make a deal with Mendy if they think he's sorted out his attitude problem. They have a lot of work to do over the pre season.

I know team's go in cycles-the Steelers had 1 of the best D's of any generation for the last number of years and maybe they are coming to the end now.As for the Offense they have a dam good QB its just going to be a period of change for the next couple of season's getting a few people in the draft's etc.The Steelers though have a good history of going relatively deep into the draft and coming out with a very good player, hopefully they can do the same for maybe a RB and WR.A major rebuilding and transitional period is ahead.

steelers D will be fine if they manage to resign Keenan Lewis. dick LeBeau works on a year to year contract the past 5-6 years but the sttelers have the highest paid LB coach in the league who a lot of teams wanted to hire to be their DC. Kieth Butler will be as good as Dick Lebeau after spending years with him on the side

the offense will be better with wallace gone, he was only a distraction all year.

    go black and gold!!!
