    Heya,

Not sure if i i have the right forum but here goes!

*its not a steering boot, its actually a universal joint for the steering rack?!*

My dad is driven demented looking for a boot for a universal joint for his MK2 1990 softtop but its nowhere to be found. We've tried even ordering it from the UK but the readily available connection point measurements are either 70ml or 80ml where as he needs a 60ml.

Anyone got any ideas? Part number is 192419523R - similar one here but too big http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Boot-for-U-J-on-Mk2-PAS-steering-rack-192419523F_act_shop.product_pID_60134670_lang_EN_country_GB.htm

I hope that all makes sense, i have no idea what im talking about!! Thanks so much :)

    SM

What your dad has is a mk1 golf cabrio, they were still made in the 90's.
Check out vagcat for part numbers.

    Hey Neil,
Thanks for that - i found the part (well, what we think is the part - depends on measurements again)
Im lost as to what type of a site this is though, there is no where to allow me order it?!

Should be a 171 prefix part number for the mk1 golf. Vagcat is just for part numbers, you will have to go to the likes of gsf, otto or vw to order the part.

Try vwspares.ie - same parts, cheaper postage.
