How to bleed system ?

I moved the water storage tanks in the attic yesterday as the first step in opening out the roof space. All went fine however as I had to drain the tanks prior to relocation I think the system has gotten an air lock.

Drained the tanks by turning off the stop cock and turning on all taps, flushing toilet etc. Refilled tanks by opening stopcock and refilled the tanks no problems or leaks.I've gas central heating.

My problem is that I've no hot water now. The cylinder is full of warm water but when I turn on hot tap really cold water comes out - direct from the roof ? Electric shower is sounding strained and only a small trickle of stream from it.

Is it a likely airlock and if so How can i bleed it. I'm a total amateur and would appreciate the advise.
    Thanks e

With the electric shower take the shower head of the rail ,leave it on the shower tray, turn on the shower and the water should come .If it does not come after about thirty seconds turn it of as you may do damage. If this does not work turn of the power to the shower ,remove front cover and slightly lossen the filter cover nut the air should now come out followed by the water be prerared to get wet though. If any water splashs on the electrics of the shower dry this before replacing the cover .

If your doing the above make sure the shower is switched to cold. You don't want the element in it heating with no water passing through it
