    Price includes pretty much all your food at the fully manned controls every 80-100kms, so pretty good value at that. Not to worry, they've 650 entries in the first 2 hours so they're likely to reach the entry limit of 900 without you !

    I'm of the same mind. I looked at The Rat Race trip as it looked like 'good fun' and of 2 or 4 days over the Bank Holiday weekend and get the family to meet me in Edinburgh. I even checked with a few mates in the UK if they fancied it. The current cost is 400 quid though and you would have to pay your own hotel bills on top (I'm not a camper).

    Then there's the London/ Surrey 100 mile thing following the Olympic Route where you have to pay a small fortune.

    The next time someone moans about the cost of a Sportive in Ireland...
