Does anyone know if I can lodge a cheque in the Post Office? I bank with AIB.
I know that there's definitely some Post Offices you can do it in but I can't find a list anywhere.

Iirc yes you can lodge it.

Select 'aib banking services' from the drop down list to show which post offices do it

    http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/at+your+local+Post+Office.htm

    or pdf :> http://www.aib.ie/personal/home/designated-post-offices

    UNIT A
    SWORDS CENTRAL SHOPPING CENTRE
    MAIN STREET
    SWORDS , CO. DUBLIN

Reason I ask, they do cheques for dasnkse bank, where the one in river valley doesn't

Considering that AIB were claiming that this service would be an adequate replacement for their branches, they would want to at least ensure that the service is uniformly rolled out by An Post!

From what I read of that list, only Post Offices that are the "substitute" for closing branches in whatever town are handling cheques for AIB. [edit]Cash services via card [lodgement/withdrawal] still remains available in most major post offices.[/edit]

Where as Danske have a more wideranging deal.

Yeah it was... Both branches told me they couldn't handle cheques for AIB accounts.

It's silly the main Post Offices with decent opening hours can't do it. They couldn't even tell me what ones did.
