Do you think this would be wise?

Its your M16 you can do anything you like

A lot of people fit scopes to their AEG as it helps them spot their opponents at longer ranges

Oh cool, glad to hear that your scoped AK worked well. Makes me feel more confident about getting a scope for my rifle :o I'm actually not a fan of bolt action snipers, I like semi :D Cheers for the reply.

I guess, I just thought that the sound of putting a sniper scope on a AEG seemed wrong :P

That's the exact reason why I want one. I always have trouble telling a guy from a bush or a tree at medium - long range, terrible eyesight. Cheers for the reply! :D I guess I'll order one tomorrow

Like Deburca said it is your choice, Scopes are more beneficial on bolt action springers as some have better range than aegs.

A lot of people will argue about putting it on a carbine replica is pointless, unless its a "DMR" which for all intensive purposes is the exact same only that we call them DMR's because the are replicas of them. Standard armalite's are firing a 5.56mm round and DMR's generally are 7.62mm in the real world, does this make a difference to us???? No.

What I would suggest to you is upgrade your aeg with a good hop-up rubber and tightbore barrel to get more range and consistency which subsequently will then get most use out of your scope.
