Fine Gael's Paddy Cooney is still not in prison: why?

Listening to a story on RTÉ Radio 1 where this rightwing leader of the Murder Squad in the 1970s gives out about an art exhibition in Athlone of hunger strikers in 1981, it defies belief that he is still not in prison. What hope is there for Ahern being in prison when the like of Paddy Cooney is still roaming free in Longford-Westmeath? This is a person who as Minister for Justice of the Irish state during the Dublin and Monaghan Bombings colluded with the British state in the murder of Irish citizens. Cooney's response.

At this rate, Ahern will never see the inside of prison.

Here's a previous thread on this forum about him.

Think I heard about this at the time, was this the aulfella who started bashing the framed exhibit of "comms" (messages written on cigarette paper) with his stick and was thrown out?

One of my friends was there and saw it

The link to your evidence that this man "colluded with the British stae in murdering Irish citizens in Dublin and Monaghan" seems to be missing, either that or it is just a cheap and defamatory attack on the man.

Not only is he not in jail but we are giving him 80 odd grand a year.

You don't think that there was deliberate coverup by the Irish govt over that bombing? And others, like the Belturbet bombing which FG and the govt continue to cover up today

I would like to see evidence to back up the claim that this man colluded with the British state in the murder of irish citizens, if it helps you can google the words collude and evidence.
That is one serious charge to make and one that easily land our beloved Boards before the courts (bearing in mind FG determination to gag all critics).

I suggest reading about how the investigation was stifled and wound up promptly, closed files etc. It was covered up. This happened when he was minister, and was done so to prevent the inconvenient truth from emerging, which the govt did not accept until 2006, that the Brits were behind it.

Thank you for confirming that there is no evidence and that the op's post was just a cheap snide and clearly defamatory jibe at a retired (and generally disliked politican).
