    Hi all,

Some advice on what advice I may need please.

We've just refinished a refurb and love the house. Now we're in the process of putting 'stuff' into ie beds, furniture etc. But I've realised that someone more creative than me could really make the place look special but I don't think I have the eye for it. I know what I want but would love someone to come through the house and give me some advice.

Would I need to get a full interior design service and if so, is that expensive?

    Thanks

If you like its style, a designer from Laura Ashley will visit your home and make recommendations of their products.
I think it usually costs €300. I paid €150 because I booked during a sale.
I thought it was well worth it.

Hi there....the website houzz.com is great for ideas. Spent a fortune on interior designer, who ordered some items for us ie, blinds, shower rails and interior doors. All had to be reordered, as all wrongly measured.....am so sorry we bothered. Save yourself money, pick some things you like and go for it!

I agree with you, from experience a lot of designers (not all) are affiliated with certain shops and are basically just a sales person for the shop telling you, you need this and need that.

houzz.com is a very good site for ideas and also http://pinterest.com/ if you come across the right collections.

Also tesco tend to do a lot of magazines full of pictures and colour schemes that will allow you to gain your own taste and see what colours and styles you like and what you dont.

Hope this can be of some help,
    Steven.

    Hi Steven,

Thanks for that. Yep, love Houzz. The only thing is that its very American. At times, there are things that I see that I like but I can't transfer it to my house.

    I'll check out pinterest.

    Thanks
