You will have to pay VAT at 23%. They normally won't hand the package over until you pay. If they deliver to a work address it could possibly slip through on the understanding the company will settle with the courier.

Can I pay it when it is delivered to my address ?

Does the 23% include the delivery price or just the price of goods ?
Also do I have to show proof of purchase to them ?

23% is on the total amount including shipping.

They may request proof of purchase if they feel the customs form isn't quoting the real prices.

An order receipt email would be ok. They might require you to FAX or email it to them. You can then pay the driver at the door in cash (exact change), cheque or ring up and pay by credit card. (I normally ring in the morning and pay by card and the agent will ring driver and let him know its paid for)

Could I email it to them after paying

If they do require it, you would email it in, they would then process it and charge the VAT and possibly customs based on the value on the email. It would delay the parcel being delivered by a few days as it is processed.

I very much doubt your parcel is a Saturday parcel even though it is Express
