I'm just wondering do you add anything extra to puppy food like cod liver oil, etc?

    Thanks for that lads.
He is getting plenty of food but never gave a pup anything extra as I was worried it might upset their stomach.

An egg twice a week & a spoon of cod liver oil twice a week. I get 5 blocks of beef mince off a mate (ill post pics monday or tuesday when I get more) I give them a mixture of nuts and mince. I'm actually giving the two bitches that I'm working at the moment the same mix. They are thriving, holding there condition and will go all day.

i know its all minced up, but i had always heard that you shouldnt give pups chicken bone as it can splinter and damage the intestine.

ah right, you'd notice it straight away if the pups were having problems digesting it anyway.

Do you feed the mince raw? is it beef mince? Any idea how many grams you give each dog? I feed my lad Beta and hes in good condition, id like to see a bit more on him though, washed him today and he looked thin. Would you have to cut back on the nuts if feeding mince?

just when your saying about the eggs guys, if you hard boil the egg for any dog pup up to senior the dog can take much more of the goodness out of it, dogs find the raw egg hard to digest. also too much milk with larger breeds as a pup can help spur on hip dysplacia in later life,
dont know if thats any help to ye

I throw the mince into a big pot and put boiling water in on top if it. There is about 2kg of mince in each block and a block keeps the two working bitches and the 2 pups going for about 4 days along with nuts. I find the beef mince puts nice condition on both pups and the older dogs.

Kasco, high protein greyhound feed, after about 2 months I'd give them an egg about twice a week, brings up a nice coat.

Very true but it only applies to cooked chicken bones. Raw are fine. I feed full Raw chicken legs and wings to all the dogs including pups and the love them. Turns them inside out.
