They're not very exciting tbh and very rattly. Rust is a big problem so check it out well before you buy.

Rust is a big problem for any classic so check the following, door bottoms, sill and end plates, wheel arches, lift the carpet and check the floors, if the carpet is glued down be suspicious. The car appears to have been resprayed, check the window rubbers for signs of paint which would suggest a poor paint job and or rotting window frames, also check the rubbers for cracking. The car is on UK plates so VRT and NCT pre-check will be required. If the car has underseal check the floors and chassis rails as underseal is good at hiding rot. On a final note buy a car with the best bodywork you can and mechanicals second as engines ect. are a lot cheaper to repair than bodywork.

Thanks for the help, he ended up buying it for €1080. The car was brought into Ireland in 2005 by an elderly gentleman who also had a couple of Hillman Minx's, he fell into bad health and eventually died last year and left it to his mechanic friend. It need a bit of work done but overall it looks solid and mechanically sound, he bought it for the odd drive at the weekend and a bit of a project, doesn't plan on getting it to concourse condition, so his happy enough.

For that money and it drives I would consider a good deal.
