I was talking to my nephew who is in the motor trade and the stories he told me were horrific re turbos and diesel damaged injector systems
The reason for starting this thread is to see if others can come forward to identify the extent of the damage caused to diesel vehicles by washed diesel.

He says that half a dozen people ring him per week about damaged injection systems even though that is not his forte.

an average repair , if one is lucky is 1000 euro.

He says that main dealers are not keen to fit second hand parts (understandably) and that the cost of fitting new stuff can be very expensive versus the value of the car.

In one case where he sourced a good second hand injector pump and injectors for a lady (at cost, as she was a friend of a friend), she continued to fuel at the same garage, despite being advised not to. and destroyed the lot again.
I understand also that whoever tests diesel in Dublin independently can no longer give a definite verdict, as the washing is so effective.(true?)

All in all ,when i read of the damage to the economy that the diesel washers do, I feel more for the ordinary victim, the car owner.

Round about here, Co Louth, the problems might be worse than throughout the country.
    Any opinions, or comments.
