    Hi All,

I was out walking yesterday and found this bird. Can anyone help me identify what kind of bird it is. I think it might be a young kestrel, but may be well wide of the mark.

    Any help appreciated, thanks
    Dave

    Oh, it's dead. :(

    Looks like a Kestrel alright.

If you could email John Lusby, Birdwatch Ireland's Raptor Conservation Officer, he might be interested in it.

Dodderangler, I would say so. I didn't notice red colouring specifically. Overall colouring was brown/black/off-white, with yellow eyes, and very distinctive yellow feet.
At the request of BWI, I went back to try and recover the carcass, but it was gone, so wasn't able to get a more detailed look, other than what's in the photos.
