Without wishing to be smart the only way that works is not to buy any more smokes. There are any amount of people/company's that will take your money but you are the only one who can quit.

Sophie13, Have you tried the electronic cigerette, i started last
Friday and perhaps I am fooling myself by not quitting totally but
I have reduced my cigerettes to 4 a day and puff on ecigerette rest of
time if I want and no smoke so you can puff wherever you want. Well
    worth a try I think - good luck !!!!!:D

    Alan Carrs book. Fantastic.

The main thing to remember is that it is a vastly over stated addiction. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to quit - but the world doesn't end. Once you have quit you will kick yourself for not quitting sooner.

When you feel the pangs you must think of it as you winning the battle against the addiction. The pangs should motivate you.

Good luck - it's NOT that hard.

I went to an Allen Carr "workshop" in Silversprings approx 8 years ago. Haven't smoked since (apart from an odd one when after too many pints, which doesn't happen too often :D).

Unsure if they still go on or the price but it was money well spent. It's basically a days interaction with the Allen Carr rep and other smokers and the day is spent simply breaking down the reasons why people feel they need to smoke. It completely flicked a switch for me and I left deciding that I would never smoke again.

They also had a no questions money back policy if it wasn't a success (think it was up to 90 days).

Best of luck with whatever method you use, you can do it. It was the best decision I ever made.

+1 on Allen Carr book.It has top reviews.I knew a lad who was a heavy smoker and he told me the book was the trick for him to give up.He is now off them a few years.

    +1 on that method.

My Wife stopped buying them just over 20 years ago,,and never smoked again.
No electronic things,,or many books around about it back then.

Simply gave up 9 years ago without any aids and it was a pain in the rocks. The biggest thing you have to fear is going for a few jars. If you succumb on your first night out, the trick is to get straight back on the wagon instead of throwing your cap at it there and then.

Well, OP - whats the story? Have you given up?

Just in case OP hasn't yet, I'll reiterate a previous poster's recommendation: electronic cigarette. Come visit the vaping sub-forum.

Been off cigs four days shy of a year now and it was a painless transition.
