its probably been covered before but im not vat registered but going to do a fair bit of fencing and draining on new place this year and im told with the above form i can reclaim the 23% vat.... now i wont be getting a contractor as ill fence it myself but it would be nice if i can get vat back on all materials... posts, gates, spuds/hangers, staples, wire, cement, gravel, nails, pipe, 3" stone?

now if i get and i will have to get a lad in with a digger to make a new roadway, he is not vat registered or likely to give me a receipt.. could i ignore that cost but still claim on say the loads of 3" to backfill the drains?

    any tips/advice welcome

also do i wait until end of 2013 to submit or could i put a couple of claims in!?

If you have a receipt for the materials that qualify then it will be grand. You just state the type of work you undertook and include your invoices. you can make the return any time of the year but would only make the claim when you have a good few invoices together.

For the fencing I would recommend getting the professionals in. it is money well spent as the standard of the good fencers will rarely be achieved by most people. where else would you get a reply after 5 minutes at 2 in the morning ;)

Ya you can just ignore that cost, you only submit what you have VAT reciepts for and you have 4 years to make the claim (but dont think you'll wait that long!!)
