I purchased a new 32 inch samsung tv compatible with freeview and saorview.
I plugged it in today via aerial socket in apartment- no signal but i think this is due to the block being wired for cable.
I re tuned using an indoor aerial and i received 18 rte tv and radio channels .... Very good picture.
My question is, am i likely to be able to recieve any of the freeview channels if i did something different? Located in Booterstown
    Thanks

If by 'something different', you mean erecting a large outdoor aerial installation, capable of reception from NI or Wales terrestrial transmission sites, then, yes, you would have some kind of Freeview reception.

Smartarsery aside, you'll only get Freeview on an indoor aerial in freak propagation conditions. The no-brainer solution is a satellite dish & such a feed should be provided as part of a communal setup.

Some 'cable' systems aren't even from proper providers such as UPC, but are just in-house systems fed from satellite receivers, but these would be distributed on analogue channels.

Thanks for the reply. This is what I thought but just trying to exhaust all the possibilities. There is UPC in living room so i think that's whats available in other rooms if activated/ subscription/ box required.
