    Hey all,

Sorry, being really lazy here but I need to pick up a commuting jacket and am about to trawl through the sites... thought I'd see if anyone has done the leg work already!

Looking for something decent quality, high viz, (reasonably) water proof. Anyone seen some good deals?

    Doc.

Super fit and comfortable. Have it on order from Tribikes in Loughrea, they only have black in stock at the moment.

Have just had a good trawl through the websites and seems there is a decision to be made between waterproof versus breathable. Personally I would choose breathabilty over waterproof every day as no point being waterproof if I am steaming up inside. However, I want something a bit more substantial than a packable windsheeter. Any recommendations?

For commuting I wear this waterproof with zip-open gills (AKA pit zips) on the side, works well for me. I think it depends on how easy or hard your commute is, mine's fairly easy (7 km all downhill on the way in) so I can wrap up as warm as I want.

This is what I bought, haven't got it yet.

    Good price.

Thought I'd update on this after spending a bit of time researching and eventually buying. Got the Pearl Izumi Elite Barrier jacket from wiggle for £39.

Very pleased and would recommend. Fits really well.... I'm 5'9" and broad and the Large is just right. Fitted but not too 'athletic' a fit. Looks good and has a more quality feel than some of the more 'plasticky' ones out there. Haven't really tested the waterproofness but that wasn't really a priority. Quite breathable and warm.
