    i wear lenses and am getting a welder(arc)soon, is there an issue with lenses and welding?:cool::cool::cool:!!

    As far at the wife (an optician) says it's no problem.

    As above no problems but make sure you are wearing eye protection with the specific welding filter.

    I wouldnt advise looking at the arc lenses or no. Its horrible. When (and not if) the electrode sticks to the work piece halfway through the weld, never flip up your mask to look at it. It will invariably break contact and flash you as soon as you look.

    oh god the headache..

    was more for when startin to get weld going in the right place, hard to see thru mask. just the first spot to hold metal in place.
    would always err on side of caution:):)

    :eek:..absolutely dont look straight at an arc weld...even with your eyes closed you'll get arc-eye...very painful, been there :o......get a proper mask.....
