    Hi,

When an estate has been taken in charge by the CoCo who "owns" the ransom strips? The CoCo, the Developer or the residents?

    Thanks in advance

Just to clarify what do you define as a ransom strip?

    Hi,

In this case as strip of land at the end of a cul de sac, about 2 meters wide that meets the boundary wall of the estate. It also has services running under it, main sewer line.

    Thanks

It depends on how the lands were registered with the Land Registry or PRAI as its now called. A management company may own them if they were transferred to it, likewise if they were included as part of a taking in charge application they would be in the control of a local authority, otherwise the area would remain as part of the original land holding.

Either way generally speaking you will find that the developer has retained a right to connect to any servie for any future development.

Turns out that meath coco do not take any transfer of ownership for the open spaces and these are owned by the developer (or administrator).
    thanks
