Hi there, has anybody had this issue over the xmas period and its been going on 10 days on. Got a new galaxy s3 for girlfriend, she already had a old Android with a full size SIM in it, so the guy in the shop told me to put this replacement micro SIM into the new phone and contact customer services and port her number from the old fashioned "big" SIM to her new micro SIM.... So gave her the etc and we contacted 3, they requested for us to go to this - http://apps.three.ie/sim_activation and fill in the details which we did, but it seems as if nothing has happened yet, the new micro sim seems to be activated in the new phone but when I went to port the number across i went to this page - https://www.three.ie/CorporateForms/Forms/PortingRequestValidateNumber.aspx
its asking me for my new temporary 3 number, but the replacement micro sim the chap in the shop has no 3 number on it, its not on the packaging or micro sim itself... so currently am stuck in limbo lol and am ringing customer services but they don't understand what I'm on about lol

    Have you tried Three's forum? - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1367

Try going to System Settings --> About Device--> Status and see if 'My phone number' is present (with the new SIM inserted). On my Android phone it shows the original Three number on the SIM, not the number that was ported to it.

When porting, your old number has to go onto a temporary number. Can't go onto a blank sim.

Its been like that as far as I can remember. Blank sim cards are for sim replacements only.

The guy in the shop should have gave you a sim card with a three number for porting (if you asked him to) he could have set up a further porting date for Xmas.
