Some questions about Sky Multiroom

So we're looking at getting a Sky Multiroom box put in upstairs in the house and I wanted to ask two quick questions.

    1. Price
We've got an older Sky box in the sitting room an a standard Sky package (not HD or anything). So how much will it likely cost us? Am I right in saying we could get the Box and installation free, and then it's €15 quid a month after that?

    2. Installation
When I came on here to ask the above, I saw people talking about phonelines and stuff. We don't have our Sky box hooked up to the phoneline downstairs (where the box is and where the nearest phone socket is, it would be a major nuisance). Will we need to hook up something to a phone line to get it working?

    Thanks in advance guys :)

The price of €15 a month is for a box that has no record or live pause.a box with pause and record facilities is €250 from sky!!!! I bought a second hand hd box for me€50 and mentioned it to the installer and he installed the hd one for me instead

Re the phone line.its only needed if u want to use the box office features that sky offer

Don't care about the record or pause in the slightest, and no Box office capabilities would actually suit, given the circumstances.

One other question to add though; what connections do we need to install it then? From what I can see, we've got the basic TV aerial socket in the room and no others...

Sky take another feed from the sat dish and drill a hole through the external wall in the room u want the box in.best to have your tv in position for when the installer arrives.

Just a point though.if u the record facilities in the future you will have to pay for a sky installer to call out as the box with pause and record need two wires from the sat dish.

I honestly don't see us ever needing it, and if it's the difference between a free box and a box we've got to paid for, the free will do.

The dish is outside the window of the room we'd want to install it in, so would it simply mean putting a wire through that wall, and the wire running from the dish to the box then?
