Are you back in work this week?

Well simple question as the thread title suggests. Coming into work today and yesterday the roads in Dublin city centre seemed less congested. My journey to work requires a bus and Luas and both have had half as many passengers as there normally would be for that time in the morning.
I know the schools havent reopened but are they many other companies, industries, sectors etc that still wait until after January 6 to reopen?

I had one days holiday - Dec 25th. Anybody who got two weeks off work should consider themselves lucky.

    Indeed.

    I had the 25th & 26th off.

The weekends fell nicely so it wasn't too bad.

Yeah back yesterday, much less traffic/people around.

The roads are definitely a lot quieter but I think that's mostly down to the schools being off. Also, where I work, a lot of people have extended their holidays with days carried over from last year. A rough count would suggest that 1 in 5 have used holiday days this way. I wish I had some days left from last year but I think mine were used up by June....

I'm supposed to be back in work this week but I work from my bosses house and turned up yesterday, his house was in darkness and he was in bed, today he's sick, don't think I'll actually be going back to work until Monday.

    I love my job :D

I went in on the 28th for three hours - (tidied my desk) and then was back yesterday and I have the office to myself all week. I think next week will be much worse but sure there's no point moping about it.

Was back yesterday. Was lucky enough to be off from Dec 21 - Jan 2. A week of that was in bed mind! God bless the makers of good TV shows. Watched about 14 hours worth of TV in the space of a few days. Boss, Homeland and The Walking Dead. Bliss.

    Back in work.

Wouldn't it be great if traffic in Dublin each morning and afternoon was like this all the time.

back in work...work. College is not work, college is growney uppey school. Work is where they beat all the bad habits you learn at college out of you to make you useful.

Back yesterday. Kind of easier starting back for a three day week. Next Sunday all the people who were off this week will be feeling worse than me :)

Back today, had to get it over with.

Wanted a 2 day week to ease into it before starting back to the full 5 days!

Seems for most its business as usual after the New Year bank holiday. Cant believe the schools are responsible for so much traffic in the mornings.

I have 6 schools to go past on my route and what takes 20 mins on school holidays takes an hour when mums park wherever the **** they like, walk in front of you etc.

Back since yesterday (off since the 21st) but the missus only had 25th and 26th off. So I'd a quiet and peaceful holiday :)

I study one day a week on a masters & work the other days of the week. Can't wait to get back to work on Monday (though I took soooo much work home during the break, which perhaps wasn't wise). I really love my job. Not too pushed about when college starts again though!

Is there anything to be said for providing a few Bus Scoile around the place instead of them being chauffeured individually in Mammys Toyota Avensis

I have been back in since the 27th. Each morning since then the traffic has been slowly building up.

I don't consider myself lucky and I had two weeks off. I used some annual leave.

Having said that I have worked in jobs before where I was unable to take annual leave on certain days including St Stephen's Day and New Year's Day. I considered that unlucky though.
