"He began at the bottom and today he's the most powerful in the division. But I'm better and can beat him," Murray said at a press conference, per Sky Sports. "It will be a great opportunity for me to show the world who I am."

Still undefeated as a professional boxer, Murray will be in for the toughest test in his career when he faces Martinez on April 27. However, it's also a huge opportunity for Murray, as a win against Martinez will propel him into superstardom. WBA world light-middleweight champion, Austin Trout, legitimatized himself as a top contender in the division with his upset victory against Miguel Cotto, and Murray will try to follow suit.

Most expect Maravilla to finish this one early. But Murray is confident.

It took Sergio a while to dispose of similar fighters like Macklin and Barker.

This could be a tough night at the office for Martinez.

    Predictions?

Murray has nothing to really bother Sergio with. Steady beat down.

    Wide UD for Martinez.
Murray is physically very strong and very well conditioned so I don't think he'll be stopped, but he's fairly straightforward technically so I don't think he'll be landing much and he's definitely going to have problems with Sergio's movement.

Sergio will destroy Murray easy work fair play to Murray for having the guts to go to Argentina and fight Sergio but if this even goes the distance i would be really suprised

Murray can't fight in America so I guess this is his only shot. Hard to see him having too much joy.

He did a few stints in jail when he was younger(assault/fighting) so that would rule him out of a visa to the US under Moral Turpitude.

Martinez aint that popular at home in Argentina, just like Messi. He left relatively young so they view him as a sell out.

Which is why a home fight versus a Brit is just's what needed.

    Remember The Belgrano!

    :pac:

I find that a little hard to believe given that 25 of his first 26 fights took place in Argentina and he left at the age of 27.

From what I've read he seems to be a super star in his home country. And rightly so.

He left for Spain at 20. But yeah, you are right, he is starting to receive the love a bit more these days. Beat Messi to sportsperson of the year.

He fought every fight bar one(Margarito in Vegas) in Argentina until he was 27.
