Due to begin this month I've been told, no exact date for the move unfortunately.

is that any better than terminal 4? terminal 4 has to be the worst terminal I've ever seen anywhere and I've been in some third world countries...

T4 at JFK is one of the nicer ones. The T2/T3 mess is a nightmare. T5 is quite a nice one though. Designed with jetBlue in mind originally, it's quite funky with some good places to eat etc.

I flew in there as a passenger not too long ago and was connecting onwards with jetblue.

T4 was like a cattle market. A lot of flights to central america going out and there were throngs of people EVERYWHERE. All that was missing were some farm animals!

T5 was very nice and very modern. There are some good places to get food there(american supersize portions mind you)

Jury out on this one. JetBlue upto now has not facilitated heavies, so does that mean hard stands? I don't think so.

Has anyone been in the JetBlue terminal with delays? The place turns chaotic with throngs of people. It's a massive terminal with massive people capacity. Good shops though and free Internet access.

Nothing to do with EIN, but I hope jet blues customer service does not mirror over to EIN. I do not recall a flight that has ever been on time with JB. Maybe I just was unlucky.

It's already handling Hawaiian, who operate A330's, so EI won't be an issue.

Is this a permanent move? I agree that T4 is the most depressing terminal I have ever been in. I also made the mistake of buying a pint of Guinness in the Irish bar near the gate (Tigin is it?) - cost 14 USD...ha

Yes, it is (well as permanent as terminal moves can be)

This popped up on Instagram today, looks like EI-ELA at T5 JFK. Could be preparations for the move from T4. The uploader says the move will begin on St. Patricks day, have heard nothing about that myself but sounds like the sort of thing that they would do in terms of PR.

Apart from Hawaiian and JetBlue, does anyone else use T5?

No, it was designed as a jetBlue terminal exclusively to begin with.

just my luck... I'll be there at the beginning of March and I have a connection to catch with JetBlue.. I really hoped they already moved by then

do you think 1:45h is enough for a connection from T4 to T5?

I did it in the summer. Took 30mins tops to get from the Aer Lingus plane to the Jetblue gate in T5.

I did, I was lucky enough and EI arrived 1h early. I guess with just 1.45 available it would have been extremely tight and stressful

word of advice to anyone connecting with jetBlue, make sure you have seat on your boarding pass. If it's not there, go to jb service desk
