anyone experience with villeroy and boch waste

I have a belfast sink that came with its own Villeroy and Boch connections. The outlet pipe is only about 37mm diameter and has a screw connection to connect up with a trap house waste . Basically it does'nt fit the 40mm waste fittings . Anyone heard of/seen this problem before?

You can usually get adapters from any plumbers merchants
