    had on my punto, for over a year, nothing wrong with them tbh, so would suggest.

    not sure how on high performance cars though.

    Thumbs up here.Would be EXACTLY at my price /performance/wet grip sweet spot.Obviously youll get better tyres but theyll cost a LOT more.

    As above. Value versus grip sweet spot.

    Had them on my old car on 195/50R15s. Not a bad tyre, bit shabby in the wet. Also used to have ultra sports as 40 profiles, again for the price weren't bad and worked well in the wet too. Great in the dry

    I bet you will get a much better tyre from camskill in the UK for slightly more posted.

    How much are the Nankangs costing you ?

    About €85 a corner , whats delivery time like from camskill ? I 've also read some mixed reviews on them in the past.

    In a world where the phrase "you get what you pay for" is an almost universal truth €85 a corner should tell you all you need to know really. They wouldn't be going near any car of mine that is for sure....

    I'd rather pay a bit extra for something like these:
    http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s134p97494/Uniroyal_Tyres_Car_Uniroyal_RainSport2_Uniroyal_RainSport_2_-_225_40_R18_92Y_XL_FR_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_E_Wet_Grip%3A_B_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_72dB

    It amazes me though why people choose large alloy wheels and then choose the cheapest rubber possible for them. I have that size on the front of my yoke and paid about €115 for decent mid range Vredesteins.

    The NS2s seem to be one of the better regarded of the Chinese budget tires, but honestly for a few quid more youll probably get a brand with a much better reputation. I think the Kumhos that I put on my car were about €15 a corner more expensive than the Nankang, but I know which Id prefer to have on when I need them most...

    A few weeks ago I ordered a set of Vredesteins from Camskill around 1pm on a Thursday.
    They were delivered around 11am on the Monday.

    OP, if you want reviews of those Nankangs;

    You can also check out tyre reviews by vehicle on the same site.
    In the case of your A3, it's here;

    HTH.

    You can get a top end tyre for 100 sterling per corner which will do 20,000 miles (a good few brands) delivery charge is very small 30 euros or something

    4x top end goodyear for example 530 delivered in euros

    It was done through City Link.
    Having said that, it was an unmarked white van that showed up at my door, so maybe they sub out their Irish deliveries to contractors.
    I'll try and find the actual delivery docket for you if I can.

    Have the NS-2's on the 520. They're nowhere near as bad as some people on here say. They've been fine in torrential rain but lack a bit on lateral grip...noticeable on a wet roundabout. Got them fitted for €70 a corner for 225/55/16's. With Kumho's & Hankooks coming in at around €85 I would probably get them the next time. 10,000 miles on mine and no wear at all....that might be a bad thing though!

    Had them on my old 318, never gave me 1 bit of trouble ever. That includes rain snow dry conditions. Literally not 1 problem ever.

    No they won't, I had them before on a car that I bought with them, they're not great in the wet and many times recently when pricing for tyres on various cars, Nangkangs were only about €5 per tyre cheaper than the much, much superior Hankooks.

    The problem is that the grip goes long before the tread does.

    Anyone recommend a tyre fitter to fit tyres in the west Dublin area? Looking at some rubber on Camskill.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,718 ✭✭✭Matt Simis

    As a budget brand, look at Hankook, they genuinely punch way above their class:

    Lol, I see they are beating my just purchased Falken 452's on Tyrereview too!

    Discount Tyres in Blanchardstown will fit tyres, however in my experience they are usually able to match or even beat Camskill prices so it is worth giving them a call before ordering from Camskill.

    Your car's tyres have a contact patch, between all 4 tyres, a little bit bigger than an A4 page. Thats all the tyre that seperates you from a lamp post going around a greasy bend. Tyres are one of the most important safety aspects of your car and can literally be the difference between an accident and nothing.

    Do not skimp on tyres. For the sake of €50, go up to a better named brand. Check out the new EU labelling system too which gives wet grip ratings.

    I had nangkangs on a car, and even with plenty of thread left, they were awful on greasy roads. I changed to Toyo's and the car was immediately better (safer).

    Spend the extra few euro.

    Eiretyres have the eu rating for the fuel efficency, wet grip and db noise of each of their tyres.

    Depends on the model of Nankang, they have a few different types as all the brands do and some have the same ratings as the big names and others don't.

    +1 I had the uniroyal rainsport 2 on an IS200 and they were great .As soon as the current tyres wear out on the A6 I will be putting the rainsports on it.
