    Hi Folks,

When it comes to plumbing my knowledge is zero so all help greatly appreciated.:)

I live in a 3 bed semi built in the 80's. Last year the boiler gave up so as part one of my plan I got it replaced by a Wiesmann c100 bolier (I think) which now has 10 radiators off it.

The next stage of my plan is to replace about 5 radiators ( downstairs and kids bedroom) and add another radiator to the sitting room.
The issue I have is that all the radiators in the house are single radiators and I read that double radiators give out more heat. The issue I have is that when I look up radiators the price varies for 20 euro up to a few hundred euro.

Can somebody please enlighten me why the difference in price and can you recommend what radiators I should go for before I approach a plumber.

    Regards
    Kev.

I'm no expert but I'd approach the plumber first.

It's part of his job to figure out all that stuff.

Thanks, I agree and will consult a plumber/plumbers in due course but I find its always good to be armed with some info before approaching any tradesmen. I don't want to get railroaded into getting things I don't need and ensure that what the plumber recommends is suitable for my needs.

How many radiator do you have? in general one in each room and id imagine a double sided rad. The boiler would be the important part.

Hi Im a plumber registered with RGII in Dublin. Before you decide to up the radiator sizes you need to see if the boiler is capable of heating them.A double radiator is twice the Kw output as a single radiator. You need to get a plumber to check it out for you.I you want I could check them for you.

The boiler I have is a Wiesmann c100 boiler which now has 10 radiators off it. ( 8 rads 2 towel rails )

I'm under the impression that the boiler should handle the extra rad and increasing the size of a few rads if you think that's incorrect please let me know.

The boiler should handle a few bigger radiator if its the 24Kw model.Ring precision heating in Blanchardstown. They are the main agents for Viessmann boilers.Just quote them the series number and they should be able to tell you what Kw output it is and advise on the radiator.
