    Hi all,

First time poster here and looking for a wee bit of advice.

I was to get a new set of of clubs, the full works.
My current and first set is Spalding (stop sneering) that i've had for about 8 years. This year i plan on getting out a lot more than i have, i want to try get out at least once/twice a month. (previously it was only 5 times a year)
My handicap is around 19/20, but i think with more regular play i could get it down to 15.

I dont want to spend a crazy amount on a set, no more than 3-400 hundred.
McGuirks is the only place i know that sells them. Is there any places online i can look and get them delievered. Ebay ?
Also, what brand should i look to avoid.

    Thaks in advance.

Maybe have a look at adverts.ie for a decent second hand set. You might be better served spending 300 on a quality second hand set then getting a brand new 'lesser quality' set.

Loads of options on adverts for sets.

Is getting a set online, without getting to hold or swing a club risky ?
Or is it much of a muchness.

Im left handed you see, so i've never hit a golf ball with any other clubs, ever !!

Head to The Grange driving range in Kinsealy and they have clubs there you could take a look at and hit anything you fancy. Might be worth getting a fitting there it will cost 30 quid and give you a good idea of what will suit. Are you looking to buy a driver and woods for the 400 if so i would suggest looking at the MD golf range good price and good quality or look at getting a second hand set the Mx series from Muzino should be good.
If you find anything stick a link up and i'm sure someone will help you out.
    Mike

Buying anything second hand online has risk to it but with adverts you are really just buying from a guy like yourself so you can arrange to look at them and feel them. Maybe even arrange to meet at a range and hit a few.

PS I have no affiliation to adverts but I have used it and it's a good site.

Here's an example of what kind of deals there are on adverts. These were on the first page and are a great set of clubs:

Best of luck with the search.
